One of the problems of the real estate industry (and there are many!) is that the huge corporations (Realogy.com)have become out of control and have quashed the business.
The stockholders,CEO’s simply do not care. They are in for the short term and have affected this whole mess.

Not only will they not be able to purchase the median starter home, but many of the “new” agents who started in the past few years and made some easy money already bought homes!

I know of people who were/are realtors who bought one or more homes because they believed in the crap they were spewing to others about values never going down, houses compared to a money tree, etc. These same realtors are screwed now and are tapping into savings to stay afloat. No, they don’t have the education or skills to get into another industry and make comparable money.

Guess those matching BMWs they have sitting in the driveway weren’t such a great idea huh?
