Where are all these cheap houses? I keep looking but nobody in my area is giving things away.

If its a “good time to rent” as some have stated, then its a good time to be a landlord as well.

I think what this boils down to, is that your house is worth what you paid. Any equity will be money that you put twords your house. Its not worth more just because you owned it.

I am renting an ideal house (10 minute commute, top school district, new, granite, marble, SS, etc, etc.).

The annual cost of renting this house is 3% of the asking price.
